The concept of Community Emergency Response Team was initially developed in 1985 by the Los Angeles Fire Department. C.E.R.T. is a group of volunteer emergency responders who help the local government in the event of an emergency. C.E.R.T. members assist people in their community by providing aid to those in need when professional responders are not able to provide immediate help.
